Watsonville--The Monte Vista Christian annual talent show takes place today, and this year’s roster is full of spunk.
The performers have gone through a lot of work to get ready for the big day when they share their acts ranging from dances, to singing to instrumentals.
“There's always a sense of nervousness before performing, but once you're up there, it usually goes away,” senior Katie Schmitzer said.
Schmitzer will be singing, but did not want to reveal which song before the show.
“To prepare, I've practiced the song, and worked on creating my own spin off of the original,” the Morgan Hill resident said. “I expect the talent show to be good practice for performing in front of people, and I expect to see a lot of other extremely talented acts.”
Other students performing include Stuart Buie, Jacqueline Morris, Brynn Tunink, Olivia Nicholson, Jocelyn Zepeda, Reann Pineda, Kristen Chmelicek, Eleanor Persing, Jordan Marquez and Billie Albanese.
Students want to see excitement, laughter and something with an edge.
“I think the talent show will be a good display of Monte Vista’s talented individuals,” junior Ethan Dean said. “There will be a good show of interesting skill but also some comedy displaying the joy of this school.”
